The Fool and the Keeper of Family History
I found a quite interesting article by Mark Feeney at Boston.com
It talks about a Teacher at Yale who at first didn’t love scrapbooking but now adores the craft so much see purchases scrapbooks from the past (20’s 30’s and beyond) for Hundreds of dollars apiece!
She has more than 200 scrapbooks from the past. Quite a collection.
If you think your scrapbook creativity would not make you money think again-Helfand has purchased scrapbooks that cost hundreds of dollars
Ideas and tips:
- Helfand has written a book Scrapbooks: An American History has over 475 illustrations. Great place to get some ideas from the past.
- In the article at boston.com, one woman back in the 20’s placed pieces of linen with different stains on each linen strip with directions on how to remove the stains. How can you create a scrapbook that helps your next generations?
- There are true secrets and ideas on just about every page of Helfands Book.
- The links on this page will take you to Amazon where Helfand has some great stories to share with you personally on video. Go check out her videos. You will love the story about MaryBelle Harn a student at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Make sure you pause the video on the candy wrappers a lot of interesting candy in the 20’s.
