I need basic instructions on scrap booking.?
I need help in getting started with scrap booking. Never did it before and don't know where to begin and how to do it. Any help would be appreciated.
I am a professional scrapbooker.
Go to the store and buy a paper kit, an album (I prefer 12×12) some stickers that you think you can use, an adhesive such as sticky squares or an acid free glue stick (don't use elmer's white glue), and at least one black marker that's made for scrapping. Make sure you are buying acid free. Although most items in Michaels, AC Moore, and Joann's are already acid free if you get them out of the scrapbooking section.
I wouldn't go after any big brands at this point, as you may love this, but you may not- and you don't want to go blow $100 on something you don't need. Just the basics will get you started.
My first supplies were a big lot off eBay for about $50.00 that got me going pretty well. I have now spent over $5,000.00 on items that I use, and love. So be sure you can financially take the expense of this hobby.
Get some photo's together and make sure they are extra's and not originals or your only copy, and start to practice, you don't need a specific theme on your first book, just get to know the hobby an practice techniques. My first book looks like a 3rd grader did it. My current books win awards and I get paid to scrap other people's books.
Just go slow. It can take you up to 2 hours to get one good page together. Line up your design before sticking it. Crop (cut) your photos if you'd like. Write a little something on each page.
Just have fun.
As you get better you can start adding brads, buttons, paint, ink stamping, ribbons, sewing etc.
Check out scrapper sites if you don't really know what you want your pages to look like. Try http://www.creatingkeepsakes.com
they have photos of other's work, and lots of great ideas.
Email me if you'd like to see my actual website.

Keep it simple, go to a cradt store such as michaels, or go on line to a craft store website and get ideas. I get creative memories albums beacuse they"re guaranteed. But any acid free album is OK. Get colored acid free paper and use for the backround of pix. Theres a lot of ideas on websites, just type in scrapbook ideas & see what comes up… Godd Luck & have fun. When I try to get too cute , it gets frustrating & no fun.

It depends on how you want to do it. You can do it in an album, or you can purchase a computer program and do it all on the computer. That's what I'm doing. I purchase a scrapbook program for a few dollars and when I get back from vacation I'll be able to make my first scrapbook. I like it because you can change anything at anytime. If you don't like it, change it. Also, you can e-mail it to friends and family as well as print it off and put it in a nice album. It's a lot less expensive too.

You should start simple by making a page in the beginning with pictures of the person when they were born and then just work in a timeline sort of fashion you can put in brads and stickers you can also trim the pictures with sissors you can buy at craft stores My mom has made me about 8 scrapbooks and I like the way she does them.

You want to know how to scrap book? Great!
First of all you need your materials: a scrap book (i would advice Colorbok perfect scrapbook), a block of back ground paper (different back grounds and stuff), some stickes, glitter, fun pics, pens and pencils. Oh, and glue. mementos that you want to put in the scrap book.
Now that you've got all that, you're saying, what now?!?!?
well, now you use your imagination. what should this scrap book be about? You? your friends? that time you went to disney land and made Jack Sparrow so mad he started sword fighting with your dad? You can make your scrap books about anything and everything. The easiest way to go though (i think) is to decide what you're going to do first.
Let's say you're making a scrap book of your summer (last year). you start collecting old photos and stuff. first, the title page. You could name is something like "Summer 2006" or something even more original. You may want to go in chronological order, so start with the first day of summer when you went on a hike with your best buds. pick out your best pics and write comments on the side, like: oh my goodness, this hike took really, really long! - it was so fun - we talked about chickens on mars, and such.
You may have a bus ticket from that day that you might want to put it in. Maybe you want your friends to comment too.
That's what I love about scrap booking. It leaves tons of room for the imagination!
Hope I've helped!
