Wedding invitations, digital scrapbooking, digital paper … help!!!?

My BFF is getting married next year and since I’m into paper crafts I offered to do her invitations and programs as my gift to her. She has chosen burnt orange as her main color and I can’t seem to find any suitable patterned paper with burnt orange and ivory/ecru/cream, etc. to use as the background for the layered invitations I promised her. I am in the Caribbean and it’s next to impossible to find patterned paper/cardstock in my country. In my online searches I’ve noticed digital scrapbooking and digital paper but I am SOOO busy I don’t have time to learn all about them.

Can you tell me what digital paper is? What about digital scrapbooking - what’s that? Can you recommend a great website where I can download “paper” that might be suitable for her invitations, paper that I buy once and can use any way I like, as often as I like?

Thanks! I also posted this question in Hobbies& Crafts.

Digital scrapbook background papers generally come as digital files (in JPEG format at 3600 by 3600 pixels, or 300 pixels per inch if you print it as a 12″ by 12″).

If you purchase a digital scrapbook kit (which can be all papers, or sometimes a mix of papers and embellishments), you can use graphics or photo software to print just the paper for use in paper crafts or paper scrapbooking projects. If you have a standard size printer, that means you’ll really only be able to print the paper at 8″ by 8″ because standard printers do not print at 12″ wide. To print the paper at 12″ wide, you’d need to have a special wide-format printer by Epson, Hewlett-Packard or other makers of wide-format printers.

The digital scrapbook papers initially were created so that a scrapbooker could create their entire layout on the computer. No glue. No scissors. No mess. However, paper scrapbookers have discovered that they can print the digital JPEG files over and over again, so they have been printing digital scrapbook papers and embellishments for use in paper scrapbooking projects.

Working on scrapbooking my wedding album…?

How come scrapbooking is so blasted hard? This is my first time ever attempting to scrap book, and to tell the truth, I doubt that I'll ever do another again. HELP!!!

I am a scrapbook fanatic. My first tip is to get wedding stickers from Target, AC Moore, Micheals and other craft stores. You can sue them to fill the page attach pics to teh page or atach other lit;lle piece of memories. One thing to keep is some flowers. Use them as borders on pages. Try to use different picture assortmenst and themes on each paper. Use glue, tape, and anythjing o stick on stuff to teh apper. Use teh easist hing dont make it hard on yourself. My favorite thing to use precut houses and casr and get a pic of the newlyweds going into tehre first hometogether. if the dress had extra fabric you can use taht as a back round. All though yuu may not have all teh ebst shot show the befroe and after of your a weddig crew getting ready fro the big day. Show everrything from teh apple cider wine to the zany wedding crew you had t entertain. Remeber have fun and bes wiches to you and you hubby.

Do you think that it's a good idea to use scrapbooking paper for wedding invitations?

Sure, if this fits in with the theme of your wedding than go for it! It doesnt really matter the quality of the paper - its all about the content of the invite and if it fits in with your colour scheme - weddings can be expensive, so if scrapbook paper works for you, than run with it.
