Does anyone know where I can get scrap booking layouts on the web?

I wanted to put the pic in the layout and print it out. I have a Kodak picture maker that scans and prints out 4×6 and 5×7 from my computer. I want the name of some sites that are easy to access and print.

What materials to i need to start a scrap booking club? ?

Hello,

I am volunteering at my daughters school to help out with after school programs. Fridays after school i will hold a srapbooking club. We will be doing all sorts of scrapbook projects can anybody help me with materials to start a club? I am a big fan of scrap booking but this club is different ,i will be having to share my materiels and we will be doing projects not just pages i have no clue what stuff i could expect to use! What items could i need and where is the cheapest place to get them?

For project ideas there is a great web site with lots of different kinds of ideas. Split Coast Stampers. Click on gallery, near top right of the web page. Once there you can scroll down the page to find scrapbook pages or you can go down to anything but a card.

The scrapbook page section has layouts people have done. The anything but a card section has a wide variety of ideas for different kinds of projects just about all of them have tutorials and gallery links.

From any page on the web site you can also click on Resources (near top right of page) and there you will find tutorials for both techniques and for some specific projects.

From any page on the web site you can also click on Forums (near top right of page) in there you can find patterns for some projects but personally I usually find what I need in either the resources or in the anything but a card section.

If you go into the gallery you’ll see lots of projects, mostly cards, but some other stuff too. I usually click on the Stampin Up! gallery as I have a lot of their stamps. As you go through looking at samples you’ll notice that a lot of people put their blog addresses in with their comments. I sometimes click on those to get specific instructions or for ideas. I have a whole bunch that I have bookmarked because of the tutorials and or samples or both that are on a particular blog.

You would need the typical things necessary for scrapbooking or rubber stamping: cardstock and/or decorative paper (some projects require double sided decorative paper), a paper cutter that can handle 12 X 12 paper, scissors, adhesive (probably the most expensive item, perhaps have the members bring their own and make sure to tell them to get ones that are easily refillable), red sticky tape (needed for boxes and other 3 D items that make the paper want to pull away), rulers, pencils, etc.

You can make scrapbooks without having the students go out and purchase an album because there are a lot of scrapbooks or mini albums you can make yourself out of card stock. These are great for photos from a specific event or for friends album or something. They are great for gift giving as well.

As for materials, I’m not sure where the least expensive sources might be. However I do know that there is a part of Split Coast Stampers where people can list their items for sale. There are a lot of items available for sale on there and perhaps that would be one place. The usual suggestion of E-bay isn’t always the best place but they also have a lot of those kinds of items even to the point of there being too many items available for sale.

To view the items for sale part of Split Coast Stampers you may have to subscribe (it’s free) and you’ll get a weekly newsletter by e-mail which is only one page but anything of interest you click on it and a new window will open. They have weekly challenges for both making cards and for scrapbook pages.

An idea just occurred to me that for some of the supplies you might want to approach some businesses in your area to see if they might be willing to donate some products or money to fund your club. If you have a Michael’s, Walmart, or a stamping/scrapbooking store in your area you might see if they would be willing to donate some of their products for such a cause. You may also want to contact Stampin’ Up! demonstrators in your area who may have card stock or other items they want to sell or scraps to give away.

I hope that your club is successful and that all involved have a lot of fun.

I am trying to find a book/website w/ a good selection of dolls that I can use when scrap booking?

I am trying to find somewhere w/ a good selection of dolls that I can use when scrap booking?
I love scrap booking and recently I’ve seen some pages where instead of pictures people use dolls that are personalized to look like them or who ever the page is about. The dolls are about the height of a scrap book page and I would like to try this for my next page. Any ideas, books or websites that will help ?

EK success has a line of templates called tracerkins that are paper dolls. http://www.shophandmade.com/Item?Affiliate=FeedGoogle&LinkCoupon=FeedGoogle&Item1=H19K7TP

If you have or ever get a cricut machine they have a great cartridge for paper dolls www.cricut.com/res/handbooks/PaperDollDressUp-Handbook.pdf. Sizzex Die Cutter also has templates for paper dolls

What is a blank novel for scrap booking called and where can I purchase one?

I’ve seen them on television.
It’s a completely blank hard cover book.
I want to try scrap booking.

Would I need to find a book and cover up the pages, or what?

Well traditionally scrapbooking is done in a scrapbook, it has clear page protectors in it that your slide the pages into. But if you want something like the pictures you showed, you can get a hard cover sketch book, or it looks like they used a composition book. You can even get a spiral bound blank journal.

And what the person in your example is doing seems more like art journaling or creating an altered book of sorts. It’s slightly different than the typical “scrapbooking”. Just as a heads up in case you need to describe what you are doing. :)

Where to go to find scrap booking supplies besides Michaels?

I have been to Michaels and bought everything that I like but I would like more stuff like stickers, papers, cardstock, and other stuff. Do you you know of any other great stores or websites that are good?

*a.c. moore and amazing savings are 2 great stores, also any dollar store is bound to have some supplies
*frugalities.com is an AWESOME website - terrific prices every day, sign up and you get an occasional extra 49% off
*oriental trading has a scrapbooking section, sign up and you get deals like free shipping and the occasional coupon
*stores like funkyplaygrounddesigns.com and alteredartchicks.com have a hybrid section selling real supplies. or you can buy from a digital shop and print it out - my faves are scrapgirls.com, the-lilypad.com, FPD, scrapbookgraphics.com, jenu-designs.com, kbandfriends.com, scrapartist.com …. there are loads out there
